WE'RE MAKING ANOTHER BRAVE NEW GIRLS!!!

10/25/2016

When we set out on this adventure in 2014, our goal was simple: Make a good book full of stories about brainy girls. Turned out, we had so much fun with it, we wanted to do it again. And with people constantly asking us "Will there be a Volume 2?", we finally decided to say, "YES, there will be!"

Things are a little different this time around. Instead of running another crowdfunding campaign, we're using the leftover funds from the last one for production costs (they were originally meant for marketing, and the most effective way to market a book is to create another one, after all). And since we want to someday do a Volume 3 and possibly more, we're going to be keeping a percentage of proceeds from sales of Volume 2 for the Brave New Girls pot (the bulk will still be donated to the Society of Women Engineers scholarship fund, and it's still a nonprofit venture).

Our goal is to release Volume 2 by August 2017.

Submissions are now open! Please see the submissions page for more detail. Deadline is January 16, 2017.

Official Release Date!

Hey everyone! I'm happy to announce that we have an official release date! Well, it's been behind-the-scenes official for some time now, since it's the date we were working toward, but we didn't want to announce it publicly until we were 100% certain that we'd make it (this is my fault, since I'm abnormally paranoid about being late).

Anyway, with the formatted proof in our hands, I can confidently say that Brave New Girls will be released on JUNE 15, 1015 in both paperback and e-book formats on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other popular e-retailers.

Hey everyone!

I know it's been a while since our last update - that's because we've been busy getting all the bits and pieces of the anthology together, from editing to proofreading and all the nitpicky behind-the-scenes details. Oh, and commissioning illustrations, which I'm happy to share with you in the collage below...

Aren't they awesome? I love the mix of styles we've got. We had eleven different artists on board, including a few multi-talented authors who did their own. I've also updated the stories page with them, so you can see larger versions (and see who the artists are).

Cheers,
Mary

Hi everyone! It's been a while since our last post, so I just wanted to drop a quick update. Submissions for the anthology just closed yesterday, and we've received some really great stories. Paige and I will spend the next few weeks reading through the submissions, and we'll have decisions regarding which ones we've selected around early December.  Stay tuned!

Our Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign drew to a close yesterday, and I'm happy to say that not only did we meet our goal, we exceeded it! Including offline donations, we raised more than 125% of our goal! This is truly exciting, and we're so grateful for all the help and support we've received, both from donors and from people who helped us spread the word.

A huge thank you to all our awesome donors (in no particular order):
